The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
