The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
