Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
