The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the racers, panting, 1 sparks of fire striking, 2 And the chargers at dawn, 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 Arriving thereby in the center collectively, 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 and that which is in the chest is brought out, 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
