In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: O my people! verily I am unto you a warner manifest. 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: “My Lord, I called my people by night and by day, 5 But the more I called, they only ran the farther away. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
