The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 By the angels driving away. 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
