Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
