In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
AS FOR THOSE who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God - all their [good] deeds will He let go to waste; 1 But those who believe and do the right, and believe what has been revealed to Muhammad, which is the truth from their Lord, will have their faults condoned by Him and their state improved. 2 That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood and because those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus Allah coineth their similitudes for mankind. 3 If you encounter the disbelievers in a battle, strike-off their heads. Take them as captives when they are defeated. Then you may set them free as a favor to them, with or without a ransom, when the battle is over. This is the Law. Had God wanted, He could have granted them (unbelievers) victory, but He wants to test you through each other. The deeds of those who are killed for the cause of God will never be without virtuous results. 4 Anon He shall guide them, and shall make good their state. 5 And He will admit them into Paradise – they have been made familiar with it. 6 O you who believe, if you help (in the cause of) God He will surely come to your aid, and firmly plant your feet. 7 As for the unbelievers, they will suffer misfortunes, and their deeds will be rendered ineffective. 8 That is because they hate that which Allah has sent down (this Quran and Islamic laws, etc.), so He has made their deeds fruitless. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those who were before them? Allah wiped them out. And for the disbelievers there will be the like thereof. 10 That is because God is the Protector of the believers, and that the unbelievers have no protector. 11
