Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people (and directed him): “Warn your people before a grievous chastisement comes upon them.” 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye expect not in Allah majesty! 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
