The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
