In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars as you see them, and put mountains upon the earth lest it might convulse with you, and He spread in it animals of every kind; and We sent down water from the cloud, then caused to grow therein (vegetation) of every noble kind. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
