Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon. 61 And it is He Who made the Night and the Day to follow each other: for such as have the will to celebrate His praises or to show their gratitude. 62 And the bondmen of the Compassionate are those who walk upon the earth meekly and when the ignorants address them, they say peace 63 And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer] 64 who pray, "Lord, protect us from the torment of hell; it is a great loss. 65 Indeed, it is an evil abode and evil dwelling-place." 66 who, when they expend, are neither prodigal nor parsimonious, but between that is a just stand; 67 And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. 68 Multiplied for him shall be the torment on the Day of Resurrection, and he shall therein abide disgraced. 69 save him who repents, and believes, and does righteous work -- those, God will change their evil deeds into good deeds, for God is ever All-forgiving, All-compassionate; 70 And whosoever repenteth and worketh righteously, then verily he repenteth toward Allah with a true repentance. 71 And those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by frivolity, they pass by with dignity; 72 who do not turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the signs of their Lord when they are reminded of them; 73 And they who say: O our Lord! grant us in our wives and our offspring the joy of our eyes, and make us guides to those who guard (against evil). 74 Those shall be recompensed with the highest heaven, for that they endured patiently, and they shall receive therein a greeting and --' Peace!' 75 They will live therein forever, the best abode and place of rest. 76 Say: 'My Lord esteems you not at all were it not for your prayer, for you have cried lies, and it shall surely be fastened.' 77
