The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 and gardens, and springs: 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 140
