T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 a revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 Lo! I, even I, am thy Lord, So take off thy shoes, for lo! thou art in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 He said: Cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he cast it down; and lo! it was a serpent running. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
