And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
