The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 who observe Zakah; 4 who guard their privates, 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
