Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 127 "Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves? 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know. 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 "This is no other than the false-tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 19, Page 97] 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 So they belied him, so We destroyed them.
