The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
