۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
