Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
