▼ 37 The Arrangers
Al-Saaffaat 5 of 5
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 we are the rangers, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 What though they would say, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
