The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
