The Column (Al-Suff)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
All that is in the heavens and earth exalt Allah. He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? 2 It is most hateful in the sight of God if you say something and do not practice it. 3 Surely God loves those who fight in His cause in full formations as though they were a compact wall. 4 Now when Moses spoke to his people, [it was this same truth that he had in mind:] "O my people! Why do you cause me grief, the while you know that I am an apostle of God sent unto you?" And so, when they swerved from the right way, God let their hearts swerve from the truth: for God does not bestow His guidance upon iniquitous folk. 5 Remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, "O Children of Israel, I am sent to you by God, confirming the Torah that came before me and bringing good news of a messenger to follow me, whose name will be Ahmad." Yet when he came to them with clear signs, they said, "This is merely sorcery." 6 And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah and he is invited to Islam, and Allah does not guide the unjust people. 7 They aim to extinguish God's light with their utterances: but God has willed to spread His light in all its fullness, however hateful this may be to all who deny the truth 8 He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islamic Monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammed SAW) hate (it). 9
