Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and We made them a stoning for the satans, We have prepared the punishment of the Blaze for them. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they are thrown into hell, they will hear its roaring while it boils. 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 Thus will they confess their sins. Damned are these inmates of the Blazing Fire. 11 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
