Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 And they will answer: "Surely; a warner came to us, but we denied him, and said: 'God did not send down any thing; you are greatly deluded, in fact.'" 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
