Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 "Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private, 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 who has created you in several stages? 14 Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
