Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
