The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
