Nay, by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 except those of the right hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 From the guilty. 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
