I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the receding night 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
