Remember also Our servant Job; when he called to his Lord, 'Behold, Satan has visited me with weariness and chastisement.' 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Wherein, reclining, they call for plenteous fruit and cool drink (that is) therein. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return. 55 They will suffer in hell. What a terrible dwelling! 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 (Observing their followers advancing to Hell they will say, among themselves: “This is a troop rushing in to you. There is no welcome for them. They are destined to roast in the Fire.” 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
