Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble, recording, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
