The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
