Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
