The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
