a large group of the earlier people 39 And a numerous company from among the last. 40 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable shall the fellows on the left hand be! 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 And they persisted in the great violation. 46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 And drinking on top of it from scalding water 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 did you create it or did We? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 Rather, we have been prevented' 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who caused it to descend from the cloud, or is it We Who cause it to descend? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
