We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 And delivered them and their people from the great affliction. 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 and guided them in the straight path, 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 Verily Elias is one of the apostles. 123 He said to his people, "Have you no fear [of God?] 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 But they belied him, so they will be among the arraigned (in Hell), 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 and him We left thus to be remembered among later generations: 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 Lot was certainly a Messenger. 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
