Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
