Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
