The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
