The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
