The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
