The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
