The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 The rising dawn, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
