Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble, writers 11 They know what you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
