Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
