(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
