Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a high garden 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
