Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 Warn the men. 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
