And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the world: this is no other than a human being like unto you; he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, you will be brought forth to life? 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No nation can anticipate their term, nor can they delay it. 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 We gave the Book to Moses so that perhaps they may have guidance. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
